Bible Study – Faith n Wisdom part 1
Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not
unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct
thy paths.
Righteous shall live by Faith… A major passage
for understanding GOD’s grace, His kindness, ultimate favor n forgiving love. Faith in Christ Jesus made us righteous in GOD’s eyes, no human
efforts can contribute to our salvation; it is the gift of GOD.
Ephesians 2
And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses
and sins;
2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the
course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the
spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience
3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times
past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the
mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love
wherewith he loved us,
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us
together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit
together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus
7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding
riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that
not of yourselves it is the gift of God
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus
unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past
Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called
the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;
12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being
aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of
promise, having no hope, and without God in the world
13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far
off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and
hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the
law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain
one new man, so making peace;
16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one
body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby
17 And came and preached peace to you which were afar
off, and to them that were nigh.
18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit
unto the Father.
19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and
foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles
and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
21 In whom all the building fitly framed together
groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord
22 In whom ye also are builded together for an
habitation of God through the Spirit.
Ephesians 3:14-21
For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our
Lord Jesus Christ,
15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is
named,
16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of
his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that
ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is
the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth
knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding
abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh
in us,
21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus
throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
Hebrews 11 is a
great chapter, describe the Faith of GOD’s loyal servants in Old Testament.
GOD’s test people’s faith n those people had so much faith, even without
knowing the good news.
Hebrews 11
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence
of things not seen.
2 For by it the elders obtained a good report.
3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were
framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of
things which do appear.
4 By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent
sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God
testifying of his gifts and by it he being dead yet speaketh.
5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see
death; and was not found, because God had translated him for before his
translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
6 But without faith it is impossible to please him for
he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of
them that diligently seek him.
7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not
seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by
the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is
by faith.
8 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into
a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went
out, not knowing whither he went.
9 By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in
a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with
him of the same promise
10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations,
whose builder and maker is God.
11 Through faith also Sara herself received strength
to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because
she judged him faithful who had promised.
12 Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good
as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is
by the sea shore innumerable.
13 These all died in faith, not having received the
promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and
embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the
earth.
14 For they that say such things declare plainly that
they seek a country.
15 And truly, if they had been mindful of that country
from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned.
16 But now they desire a better country, that is, an
heavenly wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God for he hath
prepared for them a city.
17 By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up
Isaac and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,
18 Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed
be called
19 Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even
from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure.
20 By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning
things to come.
21 By faith Jacob, when he was a dying, blessed both
the sons of Joseph; and worshipped, leaning upon the top of his staff.
22 By faith Joseph, when he died, made mention of the
departing of the children of Israel; and gave commandment concerning his bones.
23 By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three
months of his parents, because they saw he was a proper child; and they were
not afraid of the king's commandment.
24 By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused
to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter;
25 Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the
people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;
26 Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches
than the treasures in Egypt for he had respect unto the recompence of the
reward.
27 By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of
the king for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.
28 Through faith he kept the passover, and the
sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed the firstborn should touch them.
29 By faith they passed through the Red sea as by dry
land which the Egyptians assaying to do were drowned.
30 By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they
were compassed about seven days.
31 By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them
that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace.
32 And what shall I more say? for the time would fail
me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David
also, and Samuel, and of the prophets
33 Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought
righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,
34 Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of
the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to
flight the armies of the aliens.
35 Women received their dead raised to life again and
others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a
better resurrection
36 And others had trial of cruel mockings and
scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment
37 They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were
tempted, were slain with the sword they wandered about in sheepskins and
goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented;
38 (Of whom the world was not worthy) they wandered in
deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.
39 And these all, having obtained a good report
through faith, received not the promise
40 God having provided some better thing for us, that
they without us should not be made perfect.
Mark 11:20-26
And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the
fig tree dried up from the roots.
21 And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him,
Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away.
22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in
God.
23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say
unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall
not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith
shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye
desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have
ought against any that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your
trespasses.
26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father
which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.
One cannot earn
Salvation by the “deeds of the law” Romans 3:20, Romans 3:28 lest any man should boast. No one can take credit for his/her
Salvation. On the next blog we will taking about works, the work of
righteousness. James 2:8-26
Luke 1:37
For with God nothing shall be impossible.
GOD brought Jew n
gentile into a new relationship to each other in the Church n that He called
the Church to display His Wisdom but Israel’s rejections of the Message..
Matthew 21:28-46
But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he
came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard.
29 He answered and said, I will not but afterward he
repented, and went.
30 And he came to the second, and said likewise. And
he answered and said, I go, sir and went not.
31 Whether of them twain did the will of his father?
They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you,
That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.
32 For John came unto you in the way of righteousness,
and ye believed him not but the publicans and the harlots believed him and ye,
when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him.
33 Hear another parable There was a certain
householder, which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and digged a
winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into
a far country
34 And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent
his servants to the husbandmen, that they might receive the fruits of it.
35 And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one,
and killed another, and stoned another.
36 Again, he sent other servants more than the first
and they did unto them likewise.
37 But last of all he sent unto them his son, saying,
They will reverence my son.
38 But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said
among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on
his inheritance.
39 And they caught him, and cast him out of the
vineyard, and slew him.
40 When the lord therefore of the vineyard cometh,
what will he do unto those husbandmen?
41 They say unto him, He will miserably destroy those
wicked men, and will let out his vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall
render him the fruits in their seasons.
42 Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the
scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head
of the corner this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?
43 Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall
be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.
44 And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be
broken but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.
45 And when the chief priests and Pharisees had heard
his parables, they perceived that he spake of them.
46 But when they sought to lay hands on him, they
feared the multitude, because they took him for a prophet.
Romans 10:1-13
Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for
Israel is, that they might be saved.
2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God,
but not according to knowledge.
3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and
going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves
unto the righteousness of God.
4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness
to every one that believeth.
5 For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of
the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them.
6 But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on
this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to
bring Christ down from above)
7 Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to
bring up Christ again from the dead.)
8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy
mouth, and in thy heart that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord
Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead,
thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto
righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him
shall not be ashamed.
12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the
Greek for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord
shall be saved.
Romans 10:14-21 ( n read Deuteronomy 32)
How then shall they call on him in whom they have not
believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and
how shall they hear without a preacher?
15 And how
shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the
feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good
things!
16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For
Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?
17 So then
faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
18 But I say,
Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their
words unto the ends of the world.
19 But I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses
saith, I will provoke you to jealousy by them that are no people, and by a
foolish nation I will anger you.
20 But Esaias
is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I was made
manifest unto them that asked not after me.
21 But to
Israel he saith, All day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a
disobedient and gainsaying people.

We all sinned n deserve GOD’s judgment, but our loving FATHER, GOD sent HIS only begotten SON to satisfy that judgment for those who believe in HIM. JESUS, our LORD who lived a sinless life, loves us so much that HE died for our sins, taking the punishment that we deserve, was buries n rose from the dead according to the Holy Bible. If you truly believe n trust in your heart, receiving JESUS alone as your SAVIOUR, declaring (by Baptism) JESUS is The LORD n SAVIOUR, you will be SAVED from the judgment n spend ETERNITY with GOD in HEAVEN….
