Lent – Day 26 – Bible Study

Today, let’s study about “The Unforgettable sin”(In Matthew 12:31-32). God is full of mercy and compassion but one thing that God can't stand is blasphemy. The Holy Spirit is The Person, He is the God and one of the member of The Holy Trinity, so it is extremely serious matter to be guilty of sinning against Him. Blasphemy against The Holy Spirit will not be forgiven. This “blasphemy” involves giving satan credit for what is accomplished by God’s Power, while persistently rejecting God and His Commands. This sin is committed today only by unbelievers who permanently reject The Holy Spirit when He calls them to The Salvation. There are six sins are specifically identified as sins against The Holy Spirit. We will study this topic below but first we see how Jesus Christ react on the blasphemy. So….. get ready for the roller coaster ride!!!!

We saw in our last two blogs how Jesus healed all the people who came to Him. He healed both Israelites and gentiles, “All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.”John 6:37 We saw how gracious our God is.

In John 9:32-40 and Matthew 8:1-4 “But go, show yourself to the priest and offer the gift Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.” Matthew 8:1-4 and “Nobody has ever heard of opening the eyes of a man born blind. ”  John 9:32-40 Jesus told healed man “go and show yourself to the priest” so that they believe the prophecy of Isaiah 35:5 was fulfilled. Isaiah 35:5 “Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.” Matthew 9:27-34 the Pharisees said, “It is by the prince of demons that he drives out demons.” After that there're many Miracles and wonders perform by our Lord Jesus. He did Healing Miracles that Only True God could did and Pharisees knew that! they knew the prophecies, Only True Messiah, The Son of God can Heal the leprosy, Heal the born blind, cast out the demons and Resurrected dead people but their self-righteousness veil blinded their eyes and they're ignore all the signs. In Matthew 9:27-34, On that day Pharisees saw Him draw demons out from a man and the Pharisees said, “It is by the prince of demons that he drives out demons.”  Matthew 9:34 they did very serious sin that is why Jesus describe them as “serpents, ye generation of vipers” in Matthew 23:13-39

But as times goes their hearts turn from God and became stony Deuteronomy 18:5 “For the LORD thy God hath chosen him out of all thy tribes, to stand to minister in the name of the LORD, him and his sons for ever.”. The problem was they did not want to change their lifestyle for which they was refuse to believe that Jesus Christ is Messiah; The Son of God. The Pharisees’ lifestyle on the inside did not match their lifestyle on the outside, Pharisees saw themselves holy (because they were chosen to be God’s priests) but they were hypocrites and self-righteous. They didn't please God but they were pleased the Romans and Persians kings (Gentile) to restrained their own authorities on the people of Israel as the religious leaders. They were forget The God's commandments Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Exodus 20 “Thou shalt have no other gods before ME. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or.”

The problem was their unbelief for which they didn't saw the abundance Grace of merciful God, Jesus Christ Himself come to took all our burden, and came to cleanse us from all our sins and iniquities (See John 3:16-17, Hebrews 6:12, 1 John 1:9, Romans 3:21-26, Romans 6:23, Romans 10:13, Romans 5:6, 1 Corinthians 15:3, 2 Corinthians 5:21, Galatians 1:3-4, 1 Timothy 1:15, Hebrews 1:3, Hebrews 9:28, 1 Peter 2:24, 1 John 1:7, 1 John 2:1-2, 1 John 3:5, 1 John 4:10, Revelation 1:5)

In Matthew 12:31-32 “Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. 32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come..” Matthew 12:31-37 (Luke 12:10)

Keep one thing in mind, Nothing can separate us from the Love of God “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9. We all are sinners and need God Romans 3:23. We cannot produce our own Righteousness but we depended on God for it, the moment you accept Jesus Christ as your Saviour God and be baptised (born again) and you are made Righteous by Him, by His sacrifice and as we became Righteous in God’s eyes we start to live like Him, as His will..  And if you did any mistakes ask for forgiveness to our merciful Heavenly Father, His Love is Greater than His wrath; That is why He send His only Begotten Son into this world to fulfilled the LAW, by took our punishments, so we can receive His Righteousness, Isn’t it Great? Jesus Christ is our Living Hope, Praise The Lord… Yes, Our God is Great…
So, Let’s go back to our original topic and study about the six sins,
1.    Blasphemy
Matthew 12:31-32, Luke 12-10 “but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven.”

2.  Lying or tempting
Acts 5:4, 9 “Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.”

3.  Despising
Hebrews 10:29 “Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?”

4.  Resisting or striving
Genesis 6:3, Acts 7:51 “Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye.”

5.  Vexing or grieving
Isaiah 63:10, Ephesians 4:30 “And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.”

6.  Quenching
1 Thessalonians 5:19  “Quench not the Spirit.”
Remember our God is merciful, the fact that someone maybe concerned about up particular sins indicates he/she not beyond Grace. They should immediately repent of that sin to RESTORE fellowship with God. if God doesn't willing to forgive our sins and iniquities then why did Christ Jesus teach the parables?! you know the answer! God waiting for you to ask Him for forgiveness, go into your bedroom and Pray a little prayer, talk to Him.. You don't need to pray like pastors do, just speak your Heart, just talk whatever you want Him to forgive and change in your Lives, He is listening...

Jesus’ response is considered blasphemy. He spoke of His Father. The Jews realize that He is equating Himself with God. He manifested power into capacities that are prerogatives of deity; judgment (See John 5:22,27,30) and resurrection (See John 5:21,25,26,28-29) Jesus was submissive to the Father, but not subordinate to Him (See John 5:19-30) . Jesus clearly a clam to deity, as His hearses understood My Father suggest closer relationship with God than other people had (See John 20:17)

John 5:17-30
But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.
18 Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.
19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.
20 For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel.

21 For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will.
22 For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son
23 That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.
24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God and they that hear shall live.
26 For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;
27 And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.
28 Marvel not at this for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

30 I can of mine own self do nothing as I hear, I judge and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

Psalm 145:8-18
The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.
9 The LORD is good to all and his tender mercies are over all his works.
10 All thy works shall praise thee, O LORD; and thy saints shall bless thee.
11 They shall speak of the glory of thy kingdom, and talk of thy power;
12 To make known to the sons of men his mighty acts, and the glorious majesty of his kingdom.
13 Thy kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and thy dominion endureth throughout all generations.
14 The LORD upholdeth all that fall, and raiseth up all those that be bowed down.
15 The eyes of all wait upon thee; and thou givest them their meat in due season.

16 Thou openest thine hand, and satisfiest the desire of every living thing.
17 The LORD is righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his works.
18 The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.

Isaiah 49:8-15
Thus saith the LORD, In an acceptable time have I heard thee, and in a day of salvation have I helped thee and I will preserve thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages;
9 That thou mayest say to the prisoners, Go forth; to them that are in darkness, Shew yourselves.  They shall feed in the ways, and their pastures shall be in all high places.
10 They shall not hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun smite them for he that hath mercy on them shall lead them, even by the springs of water shall he guide them.
11 And I will make all my mountains a way, and my highways shall be exalted.
12 Behold, these shall come from far and, lo, these from the north and from the west; and these from the land of Sinim.
13 Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into singing, O mountains for the LORD hath comforted his people, and will have mercy upon his afflicted.
14 But Zion said, The LORD hath forsaken me, and my Lord hath forgotten me.
15 Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb?  yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.

We all sinned n deserve GOD’s judgment, but our loving FATHER, GOD sent HIS only begotten SON to satisfy that judgment for those who believe in HIM. JESUS, our LORD who lived a sinless life, loves us so much that HE died for our sins, taking the punishment that we deserve, was buries n rose from the dead according to the Holy Bible. If you truly believe n trust in your heart, receiving JESUS alone as your SAVIOUR, declaring (by Baptism) JESUS is The LORD n SAVIOUR, you will be SAVED from the judgment n spend ETERNITY with GOD in HEAVEN…. In The name of our LORD JESUS CHRIST.. Amen
