(Note that: We know that “nothing can happen without God's
permission” HE is Almighty GOD Matthew 8:27 "Even the winds and the waves
obey Him..". Jesus' rejection as Messiah, crucifixion, death on the cross,
resurrection were already God's plan. God did this for our Salvation, so that
we can obtain His Righteousness by the sacrificial death of His only begotten
Son, Jesus Christ. God made the Chief Priest and Pharisees spiritually blind
that they didn't accept Jesus as Messiah, even though He has fulfilled all the
prophecies and did all the miracle. God made Jesus' opposition and persecutor
to fulfill His will. The main thing is we put our faith on God’s sent, His Son Jesus
Christ, the perfect God-Man, came to offer the pure, complete and everlasting
sacrifice to remove, atone, and make eternal payment for sin. “Keep
yourselves in God's love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to
bring you to eternal life.” Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death;
but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" Read
also John 3:16-17, Hebrews 4:14-16. )
Okay... Come back to Jerusalem!
Matthew 21:23 “And when he was come into the temple, the
chief priests and the elders of the people came unto him as he was teaching,
and said, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this
authority?..” On Jesus’ third day of successive visits to
the temple His authority is challenges by the ever-threatened Chief priest,
including the high priest, who was also president of the Sanhedrin, and elders,
who were scribes and also served as members of the Jewish high court. In their
own view, they are attempting to protect their laws and traditions against one
who appeared to be a usurper who reinterpreted the law, reject tradition, and
overthrew the money changers. They ask “by what authority..” He has done these
controversial things. knowing that they would never recognize any authority but
their own, He refuses to answer them and began to speak them with parable.
Matthew 21:28-32, The parable of two sons follows as an expose of
the hypocrisy of the religious leaders. The Father here symbolized God the
Father. The first son symbolized sinners like tax collectors and prostitutes
who initially rebel against the Father’s will but the later repent and obey.
The other son represents the chief priests and elders who promised obedience to
God but never fulfilled their commitment.
Matthew 21:33-39, In the parable of the wicked husbandmen, the
householder represents God the Father; and the vineyard is Israel, a symbol of
the prophecy that was familiar to all Jewish leaders (Read Psalm 80:8-16,
Isaiah 5:1-7) The husbandmen were the priest and religious leaders, and the far
country is Heaven. The fruits represent spiritual evidence of true conversion,
which was to be the end result of the work of the husbandmen. The servants sent
by the owner represents the Old
Testament prophets who came to correct religious abuses. In the nation and were
also rejected by their generations. Last of all indicates that Jesus was God’s
final emissary to Israel. None has ever appeared since Him, and none ever will
until the Jews recognized Christ as their Messiah. The desire to kill rightful
heir of the Father had already been expressed by the jewish leaders. Jesus
clearly foretells His coming rejection and death with the statement..”they…slew
Him”
Matthew 21:44-46, “The stone which the builder rejected..” the
Sanhedrinists represents the builders of Israel’s religion, who reject the real
cornerstone of God, Jesus, the true cornerstone of the foundation of the Church.
The warning “The kingdom of God shall be taken from you..” was fulfills at
Pentecost when the Kingdom was transferred to the Church. Yet, within this
warning of judgment, Jesus offers mercy to these falling “on this stone”,
meaning falling upon Him in repentance and faith.
When chief priest and the Pharisees heard Jesus’ parable, they perceived
that He was speaking about them. And although they were seeking to arrest Him.
They feared the crowds, because they held Him to be a prophet. We all
occasionally passing through this kind of arguments, you know how it feels, but
still He gave them clue. Matthew 21:45-46. Jesus knew what they thinking of, they
didn't ask any question but Jesus gave answer to their thoughts and gave them
parable of the wedding banquet. it's a warning for them.
Matthew 22:1-3, Jesus tells the parable of the wedding banquet.
While similar to the parable in Luke 14, this one differs in its occasion and
details. Again the kingdom of Heaven must refer to the Church viewed as the
Kingdom in the Church age. The King is God the father and Christ is the Son,
the slaves, the prophets/ Jesus disciples. The wedding banquet symbolized the
great Messianic feast that Jews expected to share with Messiah at the beginning
of His rule. The wedding must be taken
in the full aspect of Salvation, including union with Christ. Those who reject,
persecuted and murdered the slaves represent Old Testament Israel and their
rejection of the prophets. The destruction of the city represents God’s judgment
on those who refuse to honor His Son. The destruction, like the penalty
described in verse 13, portals, punishment but may also hint at the destruction
of Jerusalem in A.D. 70. The guests represent Jesus’ followers who are invited
into the Kingdom despite their unworthiness. The unsuitably dressed guest
represents a false followers. His presence seems initially honour the Son but
his refusal to wear festival garments dishonour Him. Many are appear to honour
Him calling Him “Lord” but their lack of true faith and repentance (not born
again) offends Him. The Pharisees left, they couldn’t argue with Jesus.
The same day, In Matthew 22:23-29, The Sadducees make the next
attempt to the discredit Jesus and are even more severely humiliated. The
Sadducees believed that humans cease to exist at the moment of physical death
(Acts 23:6-8) They appealed to the law
of levirate marriage in an attempt to disapprove the doctrine of Resurrection. Like
Angel, resurrected people will not marry because they are eternal. Exodus
3:6,15-16, where God spoke to Moses from the burning bush and He referred to
the dead patriarchs in manner that implied that they still exist “I AM the God
of Abraham” rather than “I was the God of Abraham”. This is shows that the dilemma described by
Sadducees is false. Jesus attacks the Sadducees’ major belief on resurrection
at all, by quoting Exodus 3:6. A statement from the only part of the Old
Testament that the Sadducees unquestioningly accepted. “God is not the God of
the dead..” does not mean that He has no relationship to those who have
departed; it means that the departed are not really dead,. Thus the crowd is
astonished and the Sadducees are puy..to..silence..
The Pharisees had heard that Jesus put the Sadducees to silence
the sent Him a lawyer, Matthew 35:40, he Ask Jesus “which is the greatest
commandment..” He trying to draw Jesus into an argument regarding the
Pharisees’ extensive interpretation of over six hundred laws. Instated, Christ
Jesus summarizes the two tables of the law 1. Responsibility to God and 2.
responsibility to man, by reminding Deuteronomy 6:5 “And thou shalt love the LORD thy God
with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.” and
Levitics 19:18 “Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children
of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself: I am the LORD. “as the greatest commandments, it was of supreme importance and priority. No Pharisees could fault such
an answer. In Matthew 22:41-46 to 23:39 Pharisees ask Jesus “What think ye of
Christ? Whose Son is He?”.. They thought themselves more intelligent than
Jesus, and more wise/shrewd than Him and They repeatedly try to trap Jesus, but they
always underestimate Him. Jesus continue to teach people and Pharisees couldn't
do anything, they feared the crowd.
No one is
ever too lost to be saved by God's amazing grace. It doesn't matter how many
steps you took away from God, remember there's only one step backward to get
right with Him; only single step in the right direction. Sometimes we get so
hard on ourselves that we don't want to see we already has the solution of our
problem! We're living in the constant fear of our society; fear of being
criticized, fear from changes and fear of being hurt, and that's how we have
missed the point; the point of “God's Grace!” Trusting in God's unfailing Grace
and Favour is the exact opposite of living in fear that society doesn't has. Place
your Trust in Him, He created all the things visible and nonvisible and He
knows what's going on, Just BELIEVE “But
we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God
ordained before the world unto our glory: 8 Which none of the princes of this
world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of
glory.9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have
entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that
love him” 1 Corinthians 2:7-9 We don't need
to be perfect because we have the Perfect God Almighty as our helper and our
Guide “I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I
will guide thee with mine eye.” Psalm 32:8. God the Father wants us to rely on Him for
everything, from our daily bread to our Eternal Salvation, He is our provider
God …“Our
fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, “He gave them bread from
heaven to eat.” John 6:31-44, “Being
justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:” Romans
3: 24 , “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt
believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be
saved.” Romans 10:9, Nothing is impossible for God, if we believe in
Him, He will do it for us “But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With
men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.” Luke 1:37 Bible is full of the story about God's mercy toward
peoples disobedience and iniquity. We saw how forgiving was our Heavenly Father towards
those people in Bible time, than why do we think that the same God who full of
compassion and grace suddenly changed? He has the same compassionate Heart and He
loves us; HIS Children and His marvellous creations. But He is the just God, He punish the sins but not
sinners because Jesus already took our punishment on the cross and died for our
sins, but Jesus is the God, One of the member of the Holy Trinity so that He
rose again from death on the third day (That's why we celebrate The
Resurrection Day, Easter) “Jesus
Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.” Hebrews 13:8 So, don't be like
modern day Pharisees! Look at the
ordinary people in the Gospels, those Israelites and Gentiles (everyone except
Jews) knew nothing about The Messiah, (The Son of God and our Saviour) but they
followed Jesus Christ and accepted Him as their Saviour by the inspiration of
God and the Holy Spirit. WE read their stories in The Bible, they were real and
they were became God's living miracle... Be the living miracle! Have Faith on
God Almighty.
“Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber
nor sleep.” Psalm 121:2-4 , “The nation is like a mighty lion; When it is
sleeping, no one dares wake it. Whoever blesses Israel will be blessed, And
whoever curses Israel will be cursed.” Numbers 24:9 There are many PROPHECIES about “The Great
Tribulation” (Read Micah 2:12) Isaiah 63:1-6 describe the area of “Petra” in
Jordan as the place where Jews flee when the antiChrist begins persecution, it
will be a horrible time for those who will left behind (This is why I urge you
to accept Jesus Christ as your God and Saviour, be Baptized in Him) “God
Just to For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to ALL men” Titus
2:11-12 whether you are Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhist,
atheists you can start your New Life from today by accepting Jesus Christ as
your God, Saviour and by being Baptized in His name you will have the Power of
Holy Spirit, who seals you until the day of Redemption (RAPTURE) “And
grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of
redemption.” Ephesians 4:30 and once you
received “The Seal of The Holy Spirit” then antiChrist, all evils and death has
no power over you “Therefore it is of faith,
that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the
seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the
faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,” Romans 4:16, (Read also Ephesians
2:8-11, Galatians 3:28, Romans 10:12, Acts 2:21-22,
1 Timothy 2:4-6 ) Alright, back
to the point! The Jews in the 7 years period of great tribulation -- (Read Micah 2:12) Isaiah 63:1-6 describe the area
of “Petra” in Jordan as the place where Jews flee when the antiChrist begins
persecution, It is where they remain safely protected by God during the period
of the Great Tribulation. That is why Israel will stand firm even after going
through 7 years of the great tribulation and all, “Fear
thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will
strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right
hand of my righteousness. Behold, all they that were incensed against thee
shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive
with thee shall perish.” Isaiah 41:10-11 So, the main thing is Israelites need to accept
Jesus as The Messiah, this is the last chance to get Raptured and if they don't
then, they will have to go through the 7 years of Great Tribulation because of
their unbelief on the Son of God Jesus Christ, The Promised Messiah. But God
will deliver them, and they will accept Jesus as their Messiah and then The
Millennial Kingdom will began, God judge the world and will throw the devil and
his followers into the lake of fire and then The New Heaven and The New Earth
will come down from above. (See Revelation chapter 7 to 22)
Matthew 21:23-23:39 (Mark
11:27-12:44, Luke 20:1-21:4)
But what think ye? A
certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to
day in my vineyard.
29 He answered and said,
I will not: but afterward he repented, and went.
30 And he came to the
second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not.
31 Whether of them twain
did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto
them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the
kingdom of God before you.
32 For John came unto you
in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the
harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that
ye might believe him.
33 Hear another parable:
There was a certain householder, which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round
about, and digged a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to
husbandmen, and went into a far country:
34 And when the time of
the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, that they might
receive the fruits of it.
35 And the husbandmen
took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another.
36 Again, he sent other
servants more than the first: and they did unto them likewise.
37 But last of all he
sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son.
38 But when the
husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let
us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance.
39 And they caught him,
and cast him out of the vineyard, and slew him.
40 When the lord
therefore of the vineyard cometh, what will he do unto those husbandmen?
41 They say unto him, He
will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out his vineyard unto
other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons.
42 Jesus saith unto them,
Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the
same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is
marvellous in our eyes?
43 Therefore say I unto
you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing
forth the fruits thereof.
44 And whosoever shall
fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will
grind him to powder.
45 And when the chief
priests and Pharisees had heard his parables, they perceived that he spake of
them.
46 But when they sought
to lay hands on him, they feared the multitude, because they took him for a
prophet.
Chapter 22
And Jesus answered and
spake unto them again by parables, and said,
2 The kingdom of heaven
is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son,
3 And sent forth his
servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come.
4 Again, he sent forth
other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my
dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto
the marriage.
5 But they made light of
it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise:
6 And the remnant took
his servants, and entreated them spitefully, and slew them.
7 But when the king heard
thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those
murderers, and burned up their city.
8 Then saith he to his
servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy.
9 Go ye therefore into
the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage.
10 So those servants went
out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both
bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests.
11 And when the king came
in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment:
12 And he saith unto him,
Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was
speechless.
13 Then said the king to
the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into
outer darkness, there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
14 For many are called,
but few are chosen.
15 Then went the
Pharisees, and took counsel how they might entangle him in his talk.
16 And they sent out unto
him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that thou art
true, and teachest the way of God in truth, neither carest thou for any man:
for thou regardest not the person of men.
17 Tell us therefore,
What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not?
18 But Jesus perceived
their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites?
19 Shew me the tribute
money. And they brought unto him a penny.
20 And he saith unto
them, Whose is this image and superscription?
21 They say unto him,
Caesar's. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things
which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's.
22 When they had heard
these words, they marvelled, and left him, and went their way.
23 The same day came to
him the Sadducees, which say that there is no resurrection, and asked him,
24 Saying, Master, Moses
said, If a man die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and
raise up seed unto his brother.
25 Now there were with us
seven brethren: and the first, when he had married a wife, deceased, and,
having no issue, left his wife unto his brother:
26 Likewise the second
also, and the third, unto the seventh.
27 And last of all the
woman died also.
28 Therefore in the
resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her.
29 Jesus answered and
said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.
30 For in the
resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the
angels of God in heaven.
31 But as touching the
resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by
God, saying,
32 I am the God of
Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the
dead, but of the living.
33 And when the multitude
heard this, they were astonished at his doctrine.
34 But when the Pharisees
had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered
together.
35 Then one of them,
which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,
36 Master, which is the
great commandment in the law?
37 Jesus said unto him,
Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and
with all thy mind.
38 This is the first and
great commandment.
39 And the second is like
unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40 On these two
commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
41 While the Pharisees
were gathered together, Jesus asked them,
42 Saying, What think ye
of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The son of David.
43 He saith unto them,
How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying,
44 The Lord said unto my
Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool?
45 If David then call him
Lord, how is he his son?
46 And no man was able to
answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more
questions.
Chapter 23
Then spake Jesus to the
multitude, and to his disciples,
2 Saying The scribes and
the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat:
3 All therefore
whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their
works: for they say, and do not.
4 For they bind heavy
burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they
themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.
5 But all their works
they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge
the borders of their garments,
6 And love the uppermost
rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues,
7 And greetings in the
markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi.
8 But be not ye called
Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren.
9 And call no man your
father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.
10 Neither be ye called
masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.
11 But he that is
greatest among you shall be your servant.
12 And whosoever shall
exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be
exalted.
13 But woe unto you,
scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against
men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering
to go in.
14 Woe unto you, scribes
and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretence
make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.
15 Woe unto you, scribes
and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte,
and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than
yourselves.
16 Woe unto you, ye blind
guides, which say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but
whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor!
17 Ye fools and blind:
for whether is greater, the gold, or the temple that sanctifieth the gold?
18 And, Whosoever shall
swear by the altar, it is nothing; but whosoever sweareth by the gift that is upon
it, he is guilty.
19 Ye fools and blind:
for whether is greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifieth the gift?
20 Whoso therefore shall
swear by the altar, sweareth by it, and by all things thereon.
21 And whoso shall swear
by the temple, sweareth by it, and by him that dwelleth therein.
22 And he that shall
swear by heaven, sweareth by the throne of God, and by him that sitteth
thereon.
23 Woe unto you, scribes
and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and
have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith:
these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
24 Ye blind guides, which
strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel.
25 Woe unto you, scribes
and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the
platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess.
26 Thou blind Pharisee,
cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of
them may be clean also.
27 Woe unto you, scribes
and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed
appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all
uncleanness.
28 Even so ye also
outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and
iniquity.
29 Woe unto you, scribes
and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and
garnish the sepulchres of the righteous,
30 And say, If we had
been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in
the blood of the prophets.
31 Wherefore ye be
witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the
prophets.
32 Fill ye up then the
measure of your fathers.
33 Ye serpents, ye
generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?
34 Wherefore, behold, I
send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall
kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and
persecute them from city to city:
35 That upon you may come
all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel
unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple
and the altar.
36 Verily I say unto you,
All these things shall come upon this generation.
37 O Jerusalem,
Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto
thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen
gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!
38 Behold, your house is
left unto you desolate.
39 For I say unto you, Ye
shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in
the name of the Lord.
1 Timothy
6:7-12
For we
brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
8 And
having food and raiment let us be therewith content.
9 But
they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish
and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.
10 For
the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they
have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
11 But
thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness,
godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
12
Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art
also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
